![]() This is another example where we see a concept that expands the scope of the MCU beyond what has come before. One of the great strengths of the MCU is the world building achieved with each film and TV show. It works effectively to establish the setting and provides some heavy character exposition, before what presumably will be more plot focussed episodes. The story picks up immediately following the time travelling events of Endgame as we find out where Loki went with the tesseract. This is an intriguing start to the series with the introduction to a great concept and some strong character moments. Don't believe all the hype, it's not that great so far.Īfter his escape with the tesseract, Loki is captured by the Time Variance Authority. I just watched the second episode and I'm still not impressed. How can you put any belief into a Time Agency that runs the multi-verse when they act like a bunch of kids? I'll reserve judgment until I see a few more, but it doesn't look good. This show would have been better if they took themselves more seriously and got rid of most (if not all) of the dumb gags. The do what they can with what they are given. The only good thing I have to say about this show is Hiddleston and Wilson. How many times do they have to show Loki stating that he is a God, only to have someone put him in his place. This first episode was boring to watch and it has so many lame jokes. Stuff like "Loki is Back!" and "The God of Mischief at his best!" Never believe any rating that ends in an explanation point. Marvel are still finding their feet in the tv show game, but I'm here for it.Įvery time a new movie or show is released, you see all these 10/10 ratings and this show is getting the same treatment. I suspect there'll be moments that make us gasp from intrigue, but maybe a couple of moments that make us go 'oh' from slight disappointment. I seriously hope the show doesn't suffer from below par villains like Falcon & Winter Soldier, or a typical Marvel CGI fight, in the end, like in WandaVision after prior episodes of breaking free from the Marvel norm. Have to protect any stray timelines from causing another war of the timelines. The heroes we've been watching are part of the main 'sacred' timeline and Morbius & co. I know there'll be a few twists and turns to come, but at the minute it makes for a very interesting concept. ![]() a lot of.), but I personally am a fan of the explanation of the multiverse, it doesn't feel invasive of the previous 13 years of Marvel stories, which is very important. I had no idea of what to expect from this other than good chemistry between Owen Wilson & Tom Hiddleston (which there is. The actual dialogue was gripping for the entire episode, matched with the CGI etc. I loved watching both of those shows for different reasons. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the opening to both WandaVision & Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but both their openings suffered with a couple different issues.
